5 Beginner Sewing Tips and Tricks

5 Beginner Sewing Tips 😱

When you are learning to sew, you are starting from square one. Follow these tips and you’ll be sewing your first project in no time 🪡🧵

☝🏼 Using your thumb, middle, and index finger is really easy to manipulate the fabric so that the raw edges line up when you pin your fabric together.

📍Pinning parallel to the raw edge of the fabric is great for straight seams, as it holds the most fabric in place.

✂️Pinning horizontally is fantastic for curved seams as you can remove the pins much more easily when sewing.

💕Stitch length is pretty important, but for most sewing projects, 2.5/3 is the best one to go for.

💅🏼I would always recommend a high-quality thread like @guetermann_creativ_au as it is the most universally used. Go for the polyester one when you’re a beginner as this is the standard.

📈Lift the needle to the most upright position before removing your fabric. This will avoid having multiple thread tails when you remove your fabric.

I hope this helps some of you beginners out there. Make sure to like, save, and follow for more sewing tips and tricks 🫶🏼

  1. I just got my sewing machine and I’m scared of the needles 😅 so a class I went to one had safety pins (a bit safer but so annoying to use) and a more kid friendly class (that we did so much more in and actually had fun) used clips! And it was so easy

  2. in islam if you say in the day, subhan Allah WaBihamdihi (×100 times ), His sins were forgiven, even if they were as numerous as the foam of the sea.❤
